Mambuna Bojang is the Technology Support Coordinator at Transylvania University here in Lexington, KY with over two decades of experience in providing quality Technology Support to faculty, staff and students. Mambuna holds a Master of Science in Managing Information Technology (MSMIT) degree from Sullivan University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Computer Science from Transylvania University. He is responsible for the day to day running of all campus computers (laptops, desktops, thin-clients, tablets). At work, Mambuna deals with everyone on campus to make sure their devices are functioning well. He is highly respected and loved by the campus community due to his friendly demeanor and ability to patiently troubleshoot and resolve IT issues for faculty, staff and students. He is very keen on promoting and supporting diversity on campus and always volunteers his service whenever needed by the office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Outside of his professional work, Mambuna has always been a volunteer for the Muslim Community in Lexington. He served as the president of the Executive Committee (EC) of Masjid Bilal on Russel Cave Road where he oversaw the fundraising and construction of a new Masjid. As the president of the EC, he mediated and brought peace within families and other small communities. He is the current president of the fast growing West African Community in Lexington where he spends time to bring families together and conduct community outreach programs.

Major Jessica Bowman is a 13-year veteran of the Lexington Fire Department. Born the youngest of two children, she is a lifelong Kentuckian originally hailing from Oldham County before relocating to central Kentucky in 2009. Graduating with the Class of 2000 from South Oldham High School, she continued her education at Bellarmine University, earning dual B.A. degrees in Psychology and Sociology in 2003. She is also a graduate of the National Fire Academy. Major Bowman has made a career out of public safety, working for the Kentucky Parole Board, Louisville Metro Police Department, and Kentucky Department of Corrections before joining the Lexington Fire Department in 2009 as a Firefighter. During her time with the LFD, she has gained experience in both the operational and administrative sides of the department. She holds certifications as an Emergency Medical Technician and a Master Public Information Officer. Having spent the last eight years assigned to or supervising the Community Services Bureau, she has gained substantial experience in writing and managing grants, developing community partnerships, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. In January 2022, Major Bowman was named lead Public Information Officer for the LFD and the Bureau Commander responsible for overseeing Recruiting and Hiring, Grants Administration, and Community Services. Her collective work experience in public safety has allowed her to observe the human experience through multiple lenses, giving her a broader worldview from which to solve problems. Bilal El-Amin was born and raised in Lexington, KY, and graduated with a B. A from Marshall University and is currently attending Midway College receiving an MBA in Human Resources. Bilal currently works with Fayette County Public School System (FCPS) as a Family and Community Engagement Liaison, working with students, families, and communities from different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. His passion is to work with the community and at-risk youth who suffer from academic or behavioral issues. Through Mentorship and Programming, Bilal teaches students positive mindset building skills, job training skills, financial literacy, and life/social skills to become the best version of themselves! Bilal also enjoys building relationships with community and city partners to provide advocacy, resources, and citywide programming to underserved and affluent areas. Mr. El-Amin has a professional background in Project Management, Leadership, Human-Resources, and Community Engagement Specialist. Bilal has volunteered and worked with many organizations throughout his years in Lexington, Ky. Bilal has worked with organizations such as Community Ventures, Blue Grass Community Foundation, Good Neighbor Store Project, Lexington Roots and Heritage Festival, Friends of the Lyric Theater, Isaac Murphy Memorial Art Garden, Fayette County Public Schools, Parks and Recreation and many more.

A native Kentuckian, Raine Engle-Minichan moved to Lexington in 1995 to attend Transylvania University. After completing her BA, she attended the University of Kentucky, where she completed both her Master’s in Social Work and Rank I in School Social Work. Since making Lexington home, Raine has served the community professionally and personally, emphasizing work in service to children, adolescents, and their families. After working with victims of sexual abuse at the Children’s Advocacy Center, Raine made the move to Fayette County Public Schools to serve youth proactively. Here, she found her niche by combining her first love— education— with her second love— mental health. Before assuming her current position in August 2021, Minichan has served as an FRC Coordinator, Child Guidance Specialist, and Student Success Coach at Dixie, Lansdowne, and Northern Elementaries, respectively. She took a leap and began serving the district as a Positive Behavior Intervention & Support Coach and later as the Co-Mental Health Services Coordinator. Additionally, Raine has been an adjunct instructor in the UK College of Social Work graduate program for several years. Through each role, Raine’s passion for helping students has evolved into a mission to develop systemic, responsive supports and structures to ensure the success of all students. She currently serves FCPS students as the Associate Director of Student Support Services, where she leads the district’s work in the areas of school mental health and social-emotional learning. A former foster parent, Raine lives with her husband, Robert, and their two adopted children, Mark David and Tyler.

Tiffany Gooch is a Lexington, KY native. She has been in the retail industry for over 20 years, and just last year took on a new role at Ball Homes as a Design Consultant. She is excited about her new career journey as she learns more about the real estate and construction industry. Her goal in joining Leadership Lexington is to become more involved within the community, elevate her leadership skills through engagement with community leaders, and to network with other professionals in the community . Hallie Hardy is a Kentuckian born and raised. She grew up in Frankfort, Kentucky, where she developed a passion for horses at an early age. After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Equine Science and Management, Hallie went to work as a Brand Ambassador for The Jockey Club on a fan initiative called America’s Best Racing. As a Brand Ambassador she was fortunate to travel to all the major US racing jurisdictions and promote the sport. Following a year with ABR, Hallie traveled overseas for two years first as a student in the Irish National Stud Breeding Course and then as a trainee on the international management and leadership training program, Godolphin Flying Start. After completing Flying Start in 2016, Hallie came back to Kentucky to work for Godolphin’s marketing department on the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards. After its successful launch, she traveled to Florida to spend the winter working for Thoroughbred racehorse trainer, Graham Motion. In the spring of 2017, Hallie went to work for WinStar Farm as their client relations liaison. In 2018, Hallie was hired back by Godolphin as a member of the marketing team, leading their fan development initiative, Club Godolphin. She would later go on to join the nomination sales team at Godolphin before being hired as the executive director of Horse Country in February 2022. Hallie is passionate about sharing one of Kentucky’s signature industries through Horse Country’s mission: to connect guests the horse, land, and people through experiences.

After working for over 20 years in public relations, marketing and event management in Los Angeles, New York and Seattle, Phil and his husband came back to where they got married back in 2017 to call Lexington home. Four months after moving to Lexington, Phil was asked to bring his experience to LexArts and help during their 50th Anniversary in October of 2021. Phil’s professional experience has given him the opportunity to work at a few entertainment and corporate PR firms and worked on clients such as Best Buy, General Motors, LG Mobile Phones and Johnnie Walker to name a few. Phil has also worked for non-profit organizations such as the Starlight Children’s Foundation, Seattle Pride and the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Additionally, Phil’s extensive experience in event management include countless red carpet premieres, product launch events and award shows such as the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Phil and his husband discovered the Kentucky Bourbon Trail back in 2014 when there were only 8 bourbon distilleries on the trail. When they got engaged in 2016, they were looking for a unique place to get married. That’s when the idea of getting married at a bourbon distillery came about. So in 2017, Phil and Kevin got married at Buffalo Trace. Now having been in Lexington for less than a year, Phil and Kevin have quickly been embraced by the community of Lexington from city leaders to local artists and are having a great time of making Lexington their home

Alicia Miller is a Compliance Officer through Fayette County Public Schools, where she conducts internal investigations of incidents, responds to reports alleging discrimination, harassment, or retaliation, and consults with district personnel on creating and maintaining an equal opportunity environment and the interpretation and consistent application of local, state, and federal rules, regulations, and policies. Alicia has been in this role since September 2021. Alicia holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Kentucky and previously worked as a Social Worker for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) for 17 years. During her time at CHFS Alicia served as a board member at the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass, a member of Drug Free Lex, and was a member on the Kentucky Multidisciplinary Commission on Child Sexual Abuse.

Lanie Phillips is a 2015 graduate of the University of Louisville, where she earned degrees in Finance and Entrepreneurship. After graduating college, Lanie joined Wheeler Financial Solutions as an Operations Manager. She was promoted to a Financial Advisor in 2016 after obtaining her Series 7, Series 66 and Life & Health Insurance licenses. She has since fulfilled the requirements to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional and an Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor. In August of 2020, Lanie joined Triple Crown Advisors where she services clients as a Financial Advisor. Lanie works with clients through investment management and comprehensive Financial Planning. Lanie resides in Lexington, KY with her husband Josh and their two German Shepherds, Leo and Maple. Bradley Thomas is currently the Executive Pastor of Lexington’s Immanuel Baptist Church. He has over 18 years experience in church leadership and supervision in Kentucky, Tennessee, California, and Texas. He holds a BA in Political Science from Maryville College as well as a Master of Arts in Church Education from Southwestern Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary. Bradley has been married to Lainie for 26 years. They have two children who both graduated from Texas A&M University. Daughter Bailey lives in Lexington and is a Young Adult Minister at Immanuel. Son Brody just moved to Lexington and will begin his graduate work at Southern Seminary in Louisville this coming year. His two springer spaniels, Boston and Baxter, complete their family. Bradley is a respected leader in the Southern Baptist Convention and has led staff teams in churches with memberships of 6,000 plus. He is a gifted communicator and passionate about investing in others and building strong unified teams who want to make a difference in their community and in the lives of people. He also currently serves on the board of the Kentucky Baptist Convention Committee on Committees, and has previously served on the Tarrant County Baptist Association Board of Directors in Euless, Texas. Spending time with his family, traveling, golf, and movies are some of Bradley’s favorite hobbies. He also cheers for anything related to the University of Tennessee athletics due to his birth in the hospital actually located on the campus of UT in 1973. The subsequent blood transfusion to orange blood at his birth requires him to follow such rituals.

Kenya Woods is the Owner and Principal Broker of Kenwood Realty Group. Born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Kenya has resided in Lexington for over 25 years. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration from Berea College and went on to obtain both Real Estate Sales and Real Estate Broker licenses in the state of Kentucky. Kenya is an executive board member of The Nest. She is a top producing member of the Lexington Bluegrass Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Kentucky Association of Realtors, and is a lifetime member of the Top Producers Club (formerly Million Dollar Club). Kenya serves on the various committees within her local real estate association. Her commitment to serving underserved and underprivileged youth garnered her the Champion for Children Award from the Louisville Courier Journal. She was also appointed to serve on the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports teams for Fayette County Schools. A former Miss Lexington, Miss Commonwealth, and Mrs. Lexington titleholder in the Miss America Scholarship and Mrs. America Organizations, Kenya enjoys being a member and soloist for The Lexington Singers. Unique Young-Nutter is currently serving as the Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator for the University of Kentucky’s College of Pharmacy. Her tasks include assisting with the design and implementation of short- and long-term diversity initiatives for the college, along with developing and planning various projects and deliverables for the DEI office. Unique is also responsible for maintaining knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices and assisting with the creation of tools and mechanisms to evaluate and assess programs and services. She works primarily with the Associate Dean of Diversity & Inclusion to increase the support and retention of UK College of Pharmacy students, employees, alumni and faculty. Unique received her Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Strategic Communication from the University of Kentucky, and during her undergraduate career she served in multiple student organizations as a student leader. Unique previously served as an Unconscious Bias trainer for UK’s Office for Institutional Diversity and worked to bridge the gap between various student groups, faculty, and staff across campus. Before her current position, she served as a Program Advisor for UK’s Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment Services. In December of 2019, Unique earned her Master of Science in Higher Education with a concentration in Student Affairs. She plans to continue her passion in being a change agent and advocate for at-risk groups through her employer and with the Lexington community!
